“I had no idea of what to expect this week outside of knowing some of the participants, and meeting you online a few times along with our conversations. What I took away was not just some good writing, and a few shitty first drafts, but also more of an idea of what it means to be part of this veteran community, reminded of how nature has the power to heal, and that it’s always about finding your people and connecting #IRL. “This retreat was a very positive experience. I learned SO MUCH! Being in nature was indeed soothing and healing. I felt seen and important.  Being there with other veterans was also part of the healing experience. I came away with friends I will stay in contact with, which is so important for all of us, especially veterans and other people struggling with mental health. I didn’t expect to have such an experience so it was a delightful surprise. I will be sharing NSV with my fellow vets, everyone should get a chance to experience this.”
